Blue is Not

In wonder-workings
 or some bush aflame,
Men look for God and fancy him concealed;
But in earth’s common things he stands revealed
While grass and flowers and stars
 spell out his name.

Blue is Not
By Elece Hollis

Blue is not a flower color normally.
Blue is the ocean on a still shore.
Reflecting the sky of a summer day.
Blue is the vase in the windowsill
In Grandma’s kitchen, reserved for violets
Dandelions and other special bouquets.
Blue is berries in a white bowl,
Sparkled with sugar and peeping from a swirl of cream.
Blue is the color of robin eggs waiting in a nest.
Blue is a newborn baby’s eyes.
Blue is hydrangea.

Come See!

Come See!
By Elece Hollis
Come see—come join in the song!
All earth sings praise to the Creator
Who has from time immemorial
Raised His hand and created the seed,
The tree, the leaf, the bud, the flower
Anew each day—fresh and beautiful,
Bright and color-filled, light-kissed, and sweet-scented
Again and again—yet never has His paintbrush
Failed to make men and angels
Gasp and sigh in wonder
At His creations.
 Come now—join in the song!
If we be faithless, yet He remains faithful, because
 He cannot deny Himself.
2 Timothy 3:13
Summer and winter, and springtime and harvest,
Sun, moon, and stars in their courses above
Join with all nature in manifold witness,
To Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love.
Thomas O. Chisholm 1866–1960

Falls Creek Camp

The kids gathered at the Faith Baptist Church in Broken Arrow for the bus ride to Paul’s Valley and Falls Creek Bible Camp. Brenna got to go this year.
Alton has been waiting for this all year. He loves Falls Creek.

The campers met in the gym. They were very excited.
They played a game outside when the rain let up and while they waited for the tour bus.
Some stood by to watch. Here are some campers and parents
Quinton winning the game.
Alton and a friend
Loading onto the bus. Jessica, Brenna and Emily get on board.

What fun! Alton was so laid back and calm about camp! Billy and Anden and Evan watch the game.
