I don't believe this is a wild rose. It was growing on a fence at an abandoned home site located a gravel road near Beggs Lake, Beggs, Oklahoma. Probably planted by the former resident, it is growing wild and beautiful, blooming profusely in the early summer heat.
Sensitive Briar has a lot of pizazz for a wildflower. Its blooms look like little pink pompoms dipped in yellow glitter.The stems of sensitive briar are coveredwith sharp prickles that can be pretty painful.
