Fall Flower

Autumn’s the mellow time.
William Allingham

You bloom in the late heat of summer
Beware!
Tonight you must pull your petals
Around you like a cloak
When the sun fades from the sky
With red and orange, all the warmth
Will fade too and chill will be in the air.
Autumn has come and you are
Just the right color.
