“A rose for the eye–a song for the heart.”
c.e. hollis
The roses bloom all sorts and all colors, pink, all shades orange, and white, red, and purple. I even have a pale yellow one outside my bedroom window. They are like music for the eyes! Long stems or short stems with or without thorns. The petals are like fine velveteen. Mix a few blooms with greenery and some sprigs of baby’s breath for a delightful bouquet. Which color is your favorite?
A rose looks pretty in a bud vase, a bouquet vase, a corsage, or even in an old canning jar. How would you like to carry a basket and a pair of shears through a rose garden and cut an assortment of the prettiest blooms? I think it would be a grand experience. I would wear a dress and a straw hat. I would cut the ones that smelled the best–the perfumes that spoke to me.
The yellow looks like it is dried. The oranges like sherbet. The white like Egyptian cotton and the pinks like soft frosting on a cake. The purple is from a dream.
Let the beauty of Jesus be seen in me
All His wonderful passion and purity,
O Thou spirit divine all my nature refine
Till the beauty of Jesus be seen in me.

Well done! My favorites are the pinks…especially Queen Elizabeth’s.
