Love is one of the world’s most wonderful words. It’s a delightful word that we all like to hear. To hear it everyday might not happen, but when we do hear it we are lifted from the mundane and the mediocre. I think it is because God is the very essence of love and without Him there would be none.
Being a writer I tend to use words as art. These are what I consider meaningful and beautiful words. Like the Bible verse below The grass withers , the flower fades, but the Word of our Lord endures forever. As I grow older and attend more funerals; it is good to know that it is the way life on earth is framed by God and that His words–H ppl s promises will never fail us.

This sign is hung on china cabinet door “GATHER” is its message and when we do gather with friends and relatives, we share love and laughter and the words of our hearts around the table. Like Jesus and His disciples we eat together, which is so good for us, not just the food, but the interaction that happens, the stories we share, the faces we become more familiar with. We may have a feast. We may have only fish and bread, but we do have each other.
I used to write about the gatherings at our table. I called it “Look who’s at the Hollis Table.” We had and still have guests–friends and family, neighbors and always the gathering is sweet!

Propped on my buffet top over a stack of crockery bowls, a bowl of my homemade rose petal potpourri is this beautiful THANKFUL sign. It’s a reminder every day and a much needed one when I fell lonely, prideful, aggravated, ungrateful, or annoyed, too busy, sickly, discouraged or downhearted. When I feel up and cheerful the message just makes me happier.

“Lord, make me an instrument of Thy peace,” was said by St, Francis of Assisi. However you say it, this sign is a treasure for reminding me to be a peacemaker. I don’t want to be the one who causes discord. I want to be a mender, a defender, a helper, a diplomat, an ambassador of peace, a tool that makes and builds peace.
“God is lavish in every degree,” said Oswald Chambers. (These words need to be written with a florish in cursive.) I love this quote because that is how I think of God. He created lavishly. He cares for the universe and for His earth and for His people so immeasurably. I agree that He is lavish in every degree. What a great and wonderful person He is–how kind and merciful He is toward us! So I took this photo of a lily petal and added the saying so I can remind myself of the wonderful beauty of the Lord.

I love all your decor that reminds you of God’s presence with you each day!
