Azaleas for Veterans?

Muskogee’s Honor Heights Park is beautiful year round and a popular destination for flower lovers. The gardens have been rebuilding and have added a children’ s garden , a butterfly house, a playground, a splash pad, and many new varieties of azaleas, roses, lilies, irises, daffodils and this year tulips.

Some of the varieties of tulips are unusual–fringed, pointed, extra large and double and triple varieties as well as many new colors. The tulips were glorious and now they have faded they have been pulled and replaced by a dozen 12 by 12 foot raised beds one for each of twelve world regions featuring flowers from that place.

The gardens are a popular site for photographers to take senior photos. There are rock steps and bench’s, waterfalls, and many pretty spots with colorful backgrounds. Also you will find places for picnics and a field for kite flying. An arboretum is full of paths through trees . What a pretty place and a gift to our veterans.
