Faces of the Farm

Here’s a beloved and familiar face on Holliswood Farm. This is Brenna. She is a horse trainer and also has much experience in the field of horse breeding and the care and the breeding and care of cattle. She has worked since a child with animals of all types.

Mainly, she loves working horses. She is considered a horse whisperer and we are very proud of our youngest daughter Brenna.

Brenna is a member of the mounted search and rescue team—a group of volunteer deputies on horseback serving under Sheriff Eddy Rice of Okmulgee County.

Here’s the farmer, orchard man and cattleman himself, my husband Ron on his latest birthday in April. He got his favorite brown sugar pound cake iced and full of pecans. Also, a pecan pie baked for him by our second daughter Rachel, with pecans he raised and harvested himself (Well with help from the rest of us) here on the farm.

Here are some more faces: myself, Ron, Brenna, pets, cows, horses, cats and dogs and grandkids (just a few of our 25). Also, my dad on his last visit to Oklahoma before his death at 91. We sure do miss him. He liked our farm––a tree farmer himself of Christmas trees and hardwoods––he was especially interested in our pecan orchard. The dog is our catahoula hound, Suzie. The turtle is Joe. The cow is Bessie. The grands are Emma, Madison, Jacob, and Danny.

This is our son Quinton who now lives in east Texas and works in computer repair. He has a sweet wife, Adrienne, and a baby girl named Nora. Below is our son Alton, an aircraft mechanic and general all around favorite of the family. Also there are Delaney (our eldest), Rachel and her husband Tim, Tanja and Kenneth our add-ins who are family through adoption, Coleman and his wife Amy, Audra and Joe. All such wonderful faces!

There are friend’s faces. Neighbor’s faces. Many more grandchildren and kids who grew up friends with ours experiencing the farm life. I cannot show them all to you today. How about along the way you learn about all these Holliswood Farm faces, including old Guy Smiley?

Friends, family, grandchildren, and extended family, cousins, and aunts and uncles, in-laws and “outlaws”. These faces each hold a special place in our hearts. We are all also a part of a bigger family––part of the family of the Earth––part of the family of Mankind––part of the family of God.
