Wonderful Words

Words wake us. They make or break us. Words have power to build up or to tear down.

All through my house I find words Words to direct me and words to guide those who live here in the good way to live. “The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our Lord endures forever,”Number your days is the message from this first sign because our days are numbered on the earth,. We only have a few and they pass quickly. We should make the best use of them that we can.

Be thankful every day that you find yourself breathing still. The sun is shining or rain is falling,. The air is cool and refreshing. The air is warm and comforting. I find solitude. I am in the presence of others friends and family. The Lord is with me. My days are peaceful. My days are filled with living, What am I thankful for? What do I have? What do I have to be grateful for? Who do I have in my life? What blessings come to me every day?

Gather together. Yes, at our table, around it. Gather and share food, laughter, words and love. Find a seat and bring what you have there. Bring what you have. Bring who you are. As the song says, It’s nothing God hasn’t seen before. Bring your pain and regrets and bring your joys and hopes. Family and friends sitting togther around a table, eating and talking, sharing and communing. Gather.

Love one another. Love people. Love life. Love the day–the sunshine or the rain. Love and you will find love. The Bible says he who wants friends must show himself friendly. If we seek friends they will find us. Out of that love springs joy like flowers that dance in the spring’s early warmth and sunlight.

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. Yes, I want to be an instrument for peace–a peacemaker. Let the flowers bloom, the grass grow, and the birds take flight in a sunny sky. Let peace come and strife and war be gone. When we find peace we find there is no anxiety and no worry or stress. When we are peacemakers we bring the calm and rest that we and all those around us need.

What words do you find on the walls and doorways of your home? What message do you repeat and remind yourself of?

The simple petal of a flower tells us all we need to know about the creator. Who could design a lily? Only someone who is lavish in every degree! Who loves us and cares for us each day? The Lord God who hung the earth on nothing and set the sun, moon, and stars in place is the one who makes the fragile flower petal, who paints it and sews it to a stem, makes it sprout, bud and unfurl. How can we not be amazed? How can we not admire such love and gentleness?

Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only what is good for edification according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace to those who hear.

Ephesians 4:29
