Do Cows Dream?
By Elece Hollis
When cows lie quiet in the grass to nap
In the cool of a shading tree;
When they close their eyes
To the afternoon sun,
Do they dream like you and me?
Do they dream of jumping over the moon
To the tune of fiddle Dee-Dee,
Or of greener grass
Beyond rivers of milk?
Do they dream like you and me?
It’s a peaceable place where cattle feed on grass and drink water aplenty and flowers dance with butterflies in the passing wind.
