Petunias are delicate and sweet, but considered by a grouchy person like me to be “flimsy.” The petunias are not my personal choice, but what person doesn’t like petunia’s colors and their fluted shapes?
I watched last week as a tiny hummingbird came and sipped from red and pink petunias in a hanging basket on my porch. He bypassed a full red feeder to visit the flowers.
The hummers know the best places for nectar. I love that they find my roses and other garden flowers. God provides well for them. Wild roses, trumpet vines and honeysuckle climb the pasture fences and telephone poles.
I love to watch the hummers from my window or my creaky porch swing, so I get along with petunias.
