“The most ordinary and least ornate of trees is vast proof of the existence and creative work of God. How much more the magnificent magnolia?”

The pink buds like buttons form on each new branch and twig. They reach straight up to find the sun in the cold air above. Every clear day and every blue sky feeds the buds and so they swell. And before we can shake clear our clouded consciousness the buds erupt. If you aren’t careful you will miss the glory of a pinky purple flowering wonder!

As the winds turn and blow from the south the branches sway and dance in the air and bring a beauty to hearts grown weary of the browns and grays of winter. Its green feather-shaped leaves unfurl and the tree is the very essence of spring. The leaves are not as large as those of the magnolia we all know with its great white waxen blossoms filled with golden pollen and happy honey bees.

What a joy and encouragement this explosion of color and sweetness is! What a reinforcement of the fact that God is in His heaven and all’s right with the world. Through tough winters we have joy and peace because we are once more reminded of the truth. Our Promiser Keeps His Promises.
