I saw a rabbit in the garden . The horses seemed just a bit bothered by the snowfall. Above the snow the treetops were black lace against the gray sky. Everything else was white .

Everyone delighted to see cardinals on the white snow. I counted six pairs, three morning doves, a blue jay, a little gray titmouse, juncos, several meadowlarks, cowbirds and a Northern flicker.

Soup and hot bread keep us warm and happy while we’re inside. Cinnamon rolls with pecans and raisins are a happy addition to any snow day.

The cows and horses don’t seem to mind the cold. The cats and dogs however welcomed a sleepover in the laundry room. The birds are so light and frail yet the cold doesn’t affect them. They flock to my feeders and eat enough to keep warm.
Out of the south comes the storm, and out of the north comes the cold. From the breath of God ice is made, and the expanse of the waters is frozen. Job 37:9-10
