Dogwood

“All nature sings and round me rings the music of the spheres.”

The dogwoods are blooming at the park and all around town. It’s almost Easter and the dogwood tells the story.

The story of the cricifiction and ressurection of Jesus is told in each flower. There are four petals that represent the cross. Each is notched some touched with red. Red like the blood on the white purity and innocence of Christ.

In the center is a golden crown . This is the crown of thorns that Jesus had pressed onto His head. Later it was replaced with gold that he will wear for eternity.

The leaves represent new life. The dogwood tells the story of Christ’s suffering and his awakening from the dead to be crowned King of Kings and Lord of Lords!

His resurrection defeated death and hell. It cleanses us from sin and gives us new life.

John 3:16

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting Life.
