Sometimes you need a break even if you live in the country. Sometimes you just need to go fishing.

Clover didn’t like the camping trip. Dogs were required to be restrained, so she was unhappy even in the shade and with cool breezes off the lake. Most of us though had a good time at our campsite on Lake Eufaula in Oklahoma. The lake is one of the largest man made lakes in the state and is surrounded by tree covered hills.

We had some fine meals. Steaks one night and hamburgers with all the fixings another evening.

On our boat ride we saw some fine boats, skiers, and fishermen. The hills around the lake made a beautiful backdrop. I liked this boat flying the red, white, and blue.

Ron got his fishing poles ready but never made it to do any fishing.

We had a shady place on a nice rocky beach to park our camper.

Brenna on the pontoon boat. We really enjoyed the boat ride. The grandson was distraught because he had to wear a lifejacket, but soon calmed with the ride at the wheel on his daddy’s lap.

Here’s the dam at one end of the lake. We didn’t go any closer.

Here’s our camper parked under the trees just a short walk from the lake. Brenna and Sterling camped nearby. The weather was perfect–cool with a nice breeze off the lake. We stayed two nights and went home rested and renewed.

A beautiful sunset over the water brought a sweet end to our camping trip. We loaded up and hitched our campers and set off for home. Goodbye lake. We’ll be back soon.
The Mighty One, God, the Lord, has spoken, and summoned the earth from the rising of the sun to its setting. Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God has shone forth. Psalm 50:1-2
A beautiful scrapbook of your experience. Love the ‘sunset’ picture!
