Anemone

UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_fc75.jpg The anemone has a delicious bloom. The blues are wonderful with periwinkle petals and black wispy centers. I planted one this spring and its feathery leaves make it look so fragile that I had little hope for it.

Then just last week my plant from last year came up and bloomed. I hadn’t known they were perennials. What a great surprise.

My lilies are beginning to fill out and they should be pretty this year. I have a dark red and an orange variety.

I planted calla lilies today and a blue hydrangea. When I choose them I can’t decide if I like blue or pink the best. Both are spectacular.

My peonies are tight round bud balls. Soon they will open and such a lot of flower in that bud! It is unbelievable. I have four peonies blooming size this year and others coming. I am trying one in the front flowerbeds.

Flowers are good for the soul. They are like therapy, but cheaper with no side effects! I have sadly had people say to me that flowers are for funerals and they want none of them. What a lot of fun, beauty, and wonder they miss.

Give me a daisy for my hair, a zinnia for a buttonhole, a morning glory to climb a wall, a wildflower in the meadow, iris for the garden, tulips for the dinner table, a rose tumbling on the fence. I love them every one.
